Example

This is the Example page liked to from the header. The default theme has 3 Example links. On this blog, they all point to the same post (here). Normally, they would likely point to individual posts and the actual template would have to be modified accordingly.

To modify the Example (and About) links in the template, simply scan for

BEGIN MAIN-NAV.PHP

(it's inside an HTML comment) in the HTML source.

Another option would be to have the Links point to Labels you want to highlight, rather than individual posts.

As a Wordpress user, I was absolutely fascinated with the Visionary theme that Justin Tadlock created. It is just so squeeky clean - yet fully functional. Intended primarily as a magazine-style or newsletter-style theme, it is still flexible enough to be used in other circumstances.

When I found out that it had been converted into a Blogger theme (by someone over at Blogger Templates), I was ecstatic. How cool would it be to have some of the advanced features in Blogger that are available in Wordpress. But, how much fancy stuff could it really do? I knew I'd just have to find out.

At first glance it all seemed to be there (althought with a slightly clunkier appearance). But, alas, it was really just a shell. Under the covers most of the "horsepower" was missing. Sure, I could "hard code" a ton of stuff, and it would probably "make do", but I wanted more. I wanted a fully loaded theme.

So, I took the template and made a few modifications. It's going pretty well, but it's still a work in progress. I like to call it "Visionary Reloaded" (an homage to a number of hacked Wordpress plugins). Enjoy.

This is the contact page (created as a post). It could be formatted like:

Or, you could use a (very) simple email form like this, It will start the users email client and partially fill in the message for them.

You can also use various online services like contactify or Freedback to handle contact requests.

Advertise

This is the target page for the advertise link at the top. I modified the template to allow for a wider text-only block.




The AdBrite ad is actually a banner, but (apparently) has been resized because of the CSS definitions for images within a post.
